Disclosure and right of reply
The publisher of The Business Time, Argonauts Media Group Ltd (London), has no connection with Argonauts Media Group sp. z o.o. It is a creditor of the Tarsago companies, has filed notifications with the prosecutor’s office in Poland and a complaint with the President of the Polish data protection authority (UODO), and is in a dispute over the “Argonauts Media Group” mark. We therefore confine ourselves to facts from the registers and do not prejudge anyone’s liability. Before publication we asked the companies and people concerned for comment; by the date of publication we had received no reply. Comments can be sent to [email protected] – we will publish them in full.
Editorial comment
Changing a company’s name does not change its KRS number or its history. For Polish businesses in Poland and the UK it is a practical lesson: before you sign a contract or extend trade credit, check the business partner by its registration number, not by its name or logo.
What to do
- Check business partners in the KRS by number, including the history of names and board changes.
- Search the National Register of Debtors – it shows bankruptcies and restructurings.
- In the UK do the same at Companies House and in the Insolvency Register.
- If a bankrupt company owes you money, file your claim with the trustee in time.
