The USA for entrepreneurs from Poland and the UK: tariffs and trade, the dollar, investors, business expansion and the Polish business community in America.
On 30–31 October Marco Rubio hosts G20 foreign ministers in Atlanta. Poland is represented by Radosław Sikorski, Russia by Sergei Lavrov, who is under US sanctions. The meeting prepares December’s summit in Miami, and the US wants Poland to become a permanent G20 member.
After the US Supreme Court ruling, the IEEPA tariffs are gone, but since 24 July a 10% Section 301 surcharge applies. Steel, medicines and cars: the UK has better terms than the EU. Tariff refunds and new parcel rules – deadline moved to 20 January 2027.
On Friday 16 October the US president suspended sanctions under the so-called Graham act. On Monday Brent fell 1.9% to $107.8 a barrel. For UK businesses it is a sign that fuel and energy costs will remain unpredictable.
