Accessibility statement
THE BUSINESS TIME wants to be accessible to every reader, including blind and partially sighted people, people with dyslexia, people with physical disabilities and older people.
Disability Confident employer

The site’s publisher, ARGONAUTS MEDIA GROUP LIMITED, is a registered Disability Confident Employer (level 2) under the UK government’s Disability Confident scheme. The registration is valid until 12 October 2029. We employ disabled people and use their experience in building this site.
What already works on the site
- Listen to the article – a button above each text reads the article aloud (with pause, stop and speed control).
- Accessibility bar – the round ♿ button in the bottom left corner: larger text, high contrast (yellow on black), a readable font with wider spacing, underlined links, stopped animations. Settings are remembered in your browser.
- Text size A−/A+, printing and saving as PDF – in the toolbar of every article.
- Phone app – the site can be installed like an app (“Install app” in Chrome or “Add to Home Screen” in Safari).
- Alternative text for images, a “Skip to content” link, keyboard support and a visible focus indicator.
Standard
We follow the WCAG 2.2 guidelines at level AA. We check and improve the site continuously. Not all elements may meet the standard yet – especially older material and content embedded from other services.
Report an accessibility problem
If something is unreadable or inaccessible to you, write to [email protected] or use the report form. We will reply within 5 working days and – where possible – provide the content in an accessible format.
