GP surgery staff in 12 areas of England are being trained to recognise domestic abuse and refer patients to specialists. Patients get a dedicated support worker who helps with a safety plan. The government is allocating up to £34.4 million over three years to the first phase, and the programme is to cover all of England by 2029.
