Techscaler is the Scottish Government’s programme for tech businesses at the start-up and growth stage, run by CodeBase. In October it is sending three founders to each of two events: the Blue Earth Summit in London (14–16 October), one of Europe’s largest gatherings of sustainability-focused businesses and investors, and the InvestHer Summit in Paris (27–28 October), devoted to funding women-founded businesses.
The next missions are to Singapore from 24 October and Hong Kong from 14 November. Funding amounts were not given.
Editorial comment
For a young company, the hardest part is access to the right people, not the idea itself. Programmes that take founders to meet investors shorten that journey by months. Polish start-ups operating in Scotland should check the Techscaler membership terms and the schedule of future missions.
What to do
- Tech founders in Scotland: check Techscaler membership on the programme’s website. The trips to London and Paris are already planned, but further missions are regular.
- Prepare a short investor pitch and revenue figures. At such events, the first five minutes count.
- Women founders: follow InvestHer and similar programmes that support funding for women-led businesses.
