Flying to Paris, Milan, Madrid or Tirana? See what to do before you go and how to behave if you come across a protest.

Many Poles from the UK are flying in these weeks to see family or on business to countries where protests are taking place. Here is what to do.

Before you go

On the spot

  • Avoid gatherings, squares and streets where protests have been announced.
  • If you smell tear gas – move upwind and do not rub your eyes.
  • Follow police instructions and do not film interventions up close.
  • Check timetables – metro stations and streets are closed on protest days.

Key dates

25 October – election in Serbia and a planned march in London; 31 October – demonstrations in 21 German cities; 11 November – general strike in Spain; 29 November – election in Spain.
