Techies Go Green – from the original

01 · Weekly online
Sustainability hub
In partnership with Fifty Shades Greener, Techies Go Green invites you to the SustainABILITY Hub – a free, weekly online space you can drop into at any time. It is for anyone with questions, ideas or challenges around sustainability, and for anyone who simply wants to meet others working on it. Join the Fifty Shades Greener team for relaxed, practical conversations, honest sharing of experience and the occasional “let’s just talk it through” moment. Some weeks we dive into specific topics, other weeks we just catch up on how everyone is getting on. Everyone is welcome!
Every Wednesday at 13:30 (UTC)
Join the next session on Microsoft Teams.

02 · Training
Training partnerships
We are proud to work with training organisations specialising in sustainability to offer our members exclusive discounts on both introductory and advanced courses. Through these courses members can build carbon literacy, improve supply chain practices and apply key compliance frameworks and approaches that will help them lead sustainability in their organisation.
As a member you have access to exclusive discounts on sustainability training – both organisation-wide and individual – including university-accredited training available on demand.
Our training and skills partners: the Ireland Chapter of PMI and the Institute of Sustainability Studies.

03 · Free online
Online workshops and webinars
Our FREE sustainability webinars and workshops connect participants with leading industry experts to discuss the most important and fastest-changing issues in the field. They cover compliance and certification, renewable energy and heating installations, sustainable data centres, electric transport, sustainable supply chains and the circular economy – and every session provides practical knowledge and information you can use straight away. Take part in the Q&A sessions. Book your place at our upcoming webinars and workshops.
WATCH THE RECORDING: In this excerpt from one of our recent webinars, Colm Byrne, managing director of Glas Energy, speaks on “Become an energy prosumer – moving from passive consumer to active prosumer”. Colm presents a practical example of his involvement in the Community Virtual Power Plant in Graiguenamanagh, Ireland, and the revenue opportunities it brings.

04 · On site
Study visits
Our study visits give members a unique opportunity to see sustainability in action – we visit outstanding projects in renewable energy, waste management, electric transport, advanced construction technology, biodiversity initiatives and much more. These visits offer a close-up look at the innovative solutions shaping a low-carbon future. Whether viewing state-of-the-art installations or learning directly from practitioners, participants gain practical knowledge and inspiration. Book your place on our upcoming visits.
WATCH THE RECORDING: Techies Go Green members visit the Turlough Hill pumped storage power station, deep beneath the Wicklow Mountains. It is a key facility that balances energy generation and demand, allowing more renewable capacity to be connected to the grid.

05 · Dublin
Sustainability meetups
Together with the Guinness Enterprise Centre in Dublin, Techies Go Green holds regular sustainability meetups at its premises as part of the Sustainability@GEC initiatives. The events are open to anyone interested and to Techies Go Green members. We invite leading sustainability experts to present a variety of topics, followed by lively discussion and Q&A sessions. The meetups also offer opportunities for networking and collaboration. Book your place at upcoming events.

THE BUSINESS TIME’s view
Skills are the cheapest investment in sustainability. The free weekly SustainABILITY Hub and free webinars let the owner of a Polish business, or one designated employee, understand within a few weeks what customers and tenders expect – without spending money on consultants.
Important for readers in the UK: 13:30 UTC is 13:30 in the UK in winter (GMT) and 14:30 in summer (BST). Sessions take place on Microsoft Teams, in English. Study visits and Sustainability@GEC meetups take place in Ireland – for UK businesses the online formats are the most important.
If the language barrier is a problem, we will help: we will choose sessions suited to your company’s sector and go over the key takeaways in Polish.
