About us

Techies Go Green – founded in 2021 to enable businesses to reduce their carbon footprint and become more sustainable.

Founded in 2021 to enable businesses to reduce their carbon footprint and become more sustainable

In 2021 Techies Go Green was co-founded as a not-for-profit organisation by Michael O’Hara and his dedicated team – all passionate sustainability advocates. With global greenhouse gas emissions still rising when they should be falling sharply, climate action is becoming a priority for business. We set ourselves an ambitious goal:

  • to raise awareness across the wider business community of the need for sustainable climate action;
  • to build a proactive community where member companies can get support, upskill and collaborate with other businesses to decarbonise their operations more effectively.

Our mission

We all share one world and one environment

We have a duty to protect it and build a sustainable future for all. At Techies Go Green our mission is to:

  • build a broad community of businesses committed to achieving carbon neutrality;
  • make it as easy as possible for members to measure and understand their carbon footprint;
  • enable businesses to take action to verifiably reduce their carbon emissions;
  • run awareness, education and collaboration initiatives that help businesses act more effectively;
  • respond to the specific needs of the business community on its journey to net zero.

Go Green Ambassadors

A video message from Duncan Stewart, television producer and environmental campaigner.

Our Go Green Ambassadors aim to inspire and enable a culture of sustainability across our signatory community as we move towards a carbon-neutral future.

The aim of our Go Green Ambassadors is to:

  • raise awareness of sustainability as a practice in the business community;
  • lead projects and advise on reducing the environmental impact of business activity;
  • promote initiatives that support a “think green, live green” culture – both at work and at home;
  • motivate members to adopt energy-efficient practices and switch to renewable energy.

THE BUSINESS TIME’s role

Techies Go Green is growing in Ireland and the UK. THE BUSINESS TIME, as a signatory and partner, brings into the network a community it has so far lacked: Polish businesses operating in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Techies Go Green mission – measuring carbon footprints, verifiable emission reductions, education and collaboration – is also our commitment as a signatory. We deliver it in three steps:

  • we inform – we publish the network’s programme, events and expert knowledge in Polish;
  • we introduce – we help Polish businesses join the network and start using the free tools;
  • we support – we add the services a company needs to show its actions: website, social media, company formation, accounting, data protection and training.

How we help Polish businesses in the UK

As a Techies Go Green signatory, we introduce Polish businesses operating in the UK to the programme. Network membership is free – we help you through the registration in English, set up the free tools and prepare your company so its climate action is visible and credible.

Website

We design and build your company website – including a “Sustainability” page where you can show customers and tender panels your emissions data, targets and progress.

Social media

We run your company profiles on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and X. We communicate your climate action accurately, based on data – without greenwashing.

Company registration or conversion

We help you set up an LTD company at Companies House or convert a sole trader business into a company – step by step, in Polish.

Accounting

We support your accounting: day-to-day bookkeeping, VAT, annual accounts – and keeping the energy, transport and purchasing data that ESG reports require in order.

Data protection – DPO before the ICO

We act as Data Protection Officer (DPO) and point of contact for the ICO. We prepare your privacy policy and record of processing activities in line with the UK GDPR.

Online training

We sign your team up for free Techies Go Green webinars and workshops and partner courses with member discounts. We go over the key material in Polish.

How to join with us

  1. Write to us – in Polish or English. Tell us briefly about your company and what you need.
  2. Free Techies Go Green membership – we will help you fill in the registration form in English.
  3. Free tools – the OpenCO2net carbon footprint calculator and the ENSO ESG platform for members.
  4. THE BUSINESS TIME support – website, social media, company formation, accounting, data protection and training.
